There’s nothing like Game Day at HCU! Husky Tailgates bring students, student organizations, faculty, staff, departments, alumni, and friends of the University together before home football games for food, fellowship, activities, and plenty of Husky spirit.
Whether you want to stop by and enjoy the festivities, represent your student organization or department, or set up a traditional tailgate, there is a place for you!
Lawrence Park | Main Husky Tailgate
Lawrence Park is the main gathering place for the HCU Husky Tailgate!
This community-style tailgate is designed to bring the HCU community together before kickoff in a fun and welcoming environment.
The Lawrence Park experience may include:
- Student organization tables
- HCU departments and campus resources
- Yard games and activities
- Food and refreshments
- Giveaways
- Music
- Plenty of Husky spirit!
Student organizations, HCU departments, and campus resources are encouraged to reserve a FREE space to host a table, activity, giveaway, or other approved experience.
Please note that Lawrence Park is a tabling-style tailgate area and is not designated for traditional vehicle-based tailgating, grills, or open-flame cooking.

Lot 5 | Reserved Traditional Tailgating
Want to bring out the grill and create your own traditional Game Day setup?
A designated section of Lot 5 near the HUSKIES letters is available for traditional tailgating. Registered groups can reserve a space near their vehicle, bring their own tailgate setup, food, games, decorations, and use approved grills/open-flame cooking equipment in accordance with University safety guidelines.
Who Can Reserve a Lot 5 Space?
- HCU Students & Student Organizations — FREE
- HCU Departments & Campus Resources — FREE
- HCU Alumni — $25 per reserved space
- External/Community Tailgaters — $25 per reserved space
Limited Spaces Available
There are a limited number of reserved tailgating spaces in Lot 5, and reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
We encourage groups interested in Lot 5 to register early. Once all designated Lot 5 spaces have been reserved, registration for that location will close.
Alcohol is Prohibited

As a dry campus, alcoholic beverages are not permitted on HCU property, including Lawrence Park, Lot 5, parking areas, and all other tailgating locations.
We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping us create a fun and enjoyable tailgating experience that reflects the values and community of HCU.

Best for students, student organizations, HCU departments, alumni, and external/community tailgaters looking for a traditional vehicle-based tailgate experience with the option for approved grilling/open-flame cooking.

You don’t need a reservation to come enjoy the Husky Tailgate!
Students, faculty, staff, alumni, families, and friends of HCU are invited to join us in Lawrence Park before the game. Stop by for food, play some yard games, visit student organizations and campus departments, connect with fellow Huskies, and get ready for kickoff!
A reservation is only needed if you or your group would like to host your own designated space in Lawrence Park or Lot 5.
Husky Tailgate Guidelines
We want Game Day to be fun, safe, and welcoming for everyone. All tailgaters and guests are expected to follow HCU policies and Game Day guidelines while on campus.
Tailgaters are responsible for maintaining their reserved area and properly disposing of all trash before leaving. Grills and open-flame cooking are permitted only in designated Lot 5 tailgating spaces and must follow all University safety requirements.
Alcoholic beverages are not permitted anywhere on HCU property, and HCU students and their guests remain responsible for following all applicable policies outlined in the HCU Student Handbook.
